Construction and trades

The calls you miss on the job are the jobs you never get.

AI for construction companies and trades, as Apna Automation builds it, works the part of the business that happens while you are on a roof or under a sink: the phone answered when nobody can pick up, every estimate request replied to within minutes, the signed change order and the timesheet chased before the invoice, invoices out the day the job is done, and a review request sent while the customer is still pleased. Inside the Jobber, Housecall Pro or QuickBooks you already use. Live in five business days from the day access is granted.

Where does a trades business lose money?

On the phone it could not answer. A homeowner with a leak calls three contractors and books the first one who picks up or texts back. The crew is on site, the owner is driving, and the call goes to voicemail, which most people do not leave. The second leak is paperwork: the change order the client agreed to by text but never signed, the timesheet that arrives on Friday, the supplier invoice that nobody matched to the job, so the invoice goes out a week late and the money comes in a month late.

What happens to each call and request?

What does a missed call cost?

Count it. If your office gets 25 calls a day and one in four goes to voicemail, that is six calls. If half never call back, three are gone. If one in three of those was a job worth $600 of margin, that is $600 a day, or about $150,000 a year over 250 working days, from people who already had your number in their hand. The calculator does this with your numbers, and free discovery counts the real misses in a week of your own phone log and inbox.

Which tools does it work beside?

Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan for the jobs and the schedule; QuickBooks or Sage for the invoices; Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for the email; WhatsApp and text messages for the customers and the crew; your existing phone number, forwarded to the voice agent on the rules you set. The system reads from these and writes bookings, drafts and lists; it does not replace any of them.

What about the paperwork rules in Ontario?

They are the reason the chase matters. Under Ontario's Construction Act, an owner has 28 days to pay a proper invoice, and 10 per cent of each payment is held back until the lien period ends, so a late or incomplete invoice pushes real cash months down the road. The system's job is to make sure the invoice is proper and out the day the work is done, with the signed change order and the timesheets attached. It does not give legal advice on liens or holdbacks; your accountant and lawyer do that.

Can it speak to the crew?

Yes. Timesheets and site photos come in by WhatsApp and are matched to the job; a missing timesheet is chased on Friday in the words you choose; the morning's schedule goes out as a message. The voice agent speaks English, French, Punjabi and Hindi and switches when the caller does, so a customer who calls in Punjabi is answered in Punjabi and the card is written in English.

What it will not do

It will not quote a job. It takes the details an estimate needs and your estimator prices it. It will not promise a crew's time without your schedule saying it is free. It will not chase a customer for payment unless that job is scoped, and it will not send anything in a tone you have not approved.
